Organic Grande Rio Verde Tomatillo

$3.29

Though tomatillos hail from the tomato family, they are a completely different experience. This plant does not require staking and will give you large harvests. These flavor bombs are packed full of green pepper flavor with a fresh citrus and tang. They’re perfect in southwest or Mexican cuisine, and are the star of salsa verde.

Plant Preferences:

Tomatillos tend to all ripen on the plant in a short time period, yet they can be stored in the fridge for 2 to 4 weeks. You must have at least two plants present in order for fruits to develop.

When to Sow:

Sow seeds indoors about 6-8 weeks before transplanting outside. Transplants should not be planted out until all danger of frost has passed.

Harvest:

Harvest when tomatillos have plumped, and their papery husks have begun to dry and split.

Days to Maturity:

60-70 days with full to partial sun

Sowing Depth:

1/4”

Plant Spacing:

Space seedlings 24” apart
